Explo Ding Dong

Can't take credit for the title of this one, it's a take on a website that's crazy artertainment.

Anyway I thought a previous entry was due a little explaination. The whole jihad comment is something that is picked up from our old friend Mohammed (PBUH). The explaination for those who fail to be enlightened is simply that the greater jihad is the war we fight within ourselves. The lesser is the one we fight with the world at large that disobeys the will of God.

A friend of mine and I were sharing a bottle of wine over lunch one afternoon and we were in heated discussion over the idea that so many of the faithful find themselvesin battle over the physical people of this worlkd when in effect what our borther was saying was that the war of our own soul is so much more important in the long run--or the eternal one.

Wine encourages thought. Something that our other friend Rumi told us over and over. As we were thinking over our lunches and glasses, I mean we seriously solved the worlds problems. HA.

Here's my plan. You're having a war? You get together whith the leader, you play with some kittens and then you sit down in the kitchen for pie and ice cream. Afterwards you have some coffee with a little franjelico in. Boom. That's it. Solve youre disagreements and keep your native sons and duaghters out of it.

Ding Dong the pope is dead...

--which old pope? the wicked pope!

Man. Could this guy have drawn this out any freaking longer? There may be those among you who are surprise and perhaps appalled that I call the pope wicked (and not in the Austin Powers, wicked baby, sort of way... I mean evil). But considering the guy basically kept the Catholic church in the dark ages for freaking EVER I'd say it was well earned. About the only thing he ever did right was take a stand on the war in Iraq, but even that was a dictum with no teeth to it. Not ONE church in the US had the balls to stand up to the public about it. I heard no edict from Rome being preached from the pulpits by the Papal hands in the US. It was a "don't make waves" policy over here. Whoop dee doo. Fear the awesome power of the church which can't even stand up for something that THE POPE HIMSELF condemns. Pope my ass. Whoope de doo. I've seen kindergarten teachers with more power to wield than that crazy old fart.
Let's look at the score:
Taking a stand on moral issues: 1 pt.
Coming into the 21st Century: 0 pts.
(priests allowed to have a family) -1
(women priests ordained) -1
(contraception used to prevent disease) -1
(innovative methods of communication) -1
Were integral in the fall of comunist governments in Europe +5
Hanging on the Papacy in declining years of terrible Disease because you are full of yourself +10
or is that -10? Not sure how to score that one...

Maybe I'm being too harsh on the last assessment, but lest keep this little rant to the idealogy of the Jewish speaking over the dead. All I'm talking about is a gross underusage of power. As pope you effective have the influence over every Catholic on earth. What reforms were enacted? What huge earth shaking theological demads did the pope make of his people in the new milennia? Again and again the score stands at 0...
Of course look who they put in there instead... RAZTINGER!>!>! We'll see what happens I guess but Pope Rat the First was basically JP's yes man for the entire time.

I am reminded of Monty Python's HG, with the monks smacking themselves in the face with boards. I sure many of the Catholics can relate at this point....

look out in the field, it's a bird, its a plane...

It's Super food?

I was reading an article about the newest track of foods in American society and it seems that a new trend is foods that have much to do with being better for you. Part of the article was a woman who was saying how she accounted for the greens she bought as part of her children's health and her families lifestyle. Of course the article also stated that healthy, low fat, and organic foods often cost 3-4 times as much as their chemically ridden counterparts.

So not only are we widening the gap between the "have nots" and the "have mores," we are also leaving them no other choice but to eat foods that are not as good for them? I mean, the mother of three trying her best to simply FEED her family is going to buy the cheapest most filling foods she can find. And who can blamer her really?

But see this works out perfectly. The lower class will have a shorter lifespan, but breed like rabbits in order to keep a surplus of laborers out in the working field. Of course this means that the upper class will generally be predispositioned to having fewer children which will eventually lead to a class war and some kind of internal revolution. Unless, we can somehow allow the elite to gain control of the foodstuff, create and addiction to them, and keep the underclass pacified in such a way that they do not care about short lifespans or their menial tasks without class strata movement.

But I digress.

Basically it all comes down to the fact that in America only the wealthy have the power to eat healthy foods-- UNLESS, the poor can find some kind of unity that break other bonds and create municipal gardens, and foster communal self reliance. Until that day they will be bound to the upper class like cattle in the field are bound to the hay truck.
